Directions to the Cliff mine

Driving directions to Cliff Drive and the mine:
Head north out of Houghton/Hancock on US 41. This will take you through the village of Calumet, then on past Kearsarge, Wolverine, Allouez, Ahmeek*, and Mohawk. About 6 miles north of Mohawk on US 41 you’ll come to a merging road on your left. This is Cliff Drive. Take that hard left going back south along Cliff Drive about a 1/2 mile and on your right will be the mine and probably some vehicles associated with the field crew.
*In Ahmeek you may spot a sign for Cliff Drive. Follow it north for 6 miles and you’ll make it to the mine (now on your left). If you take this route, it will save you a few minutes but this road is seasonal, narrow, and has active logging on it.

Google Maps route from Michigan Tech University in Houghton.

A Google Maps detail of that route showing where Cliff Drive and US 41 meet.
