Thanks to the Keweenaw County Historical Society

Lee Sweitz and your’s truly fielding questions after our talk. Photo courtesy of John Marta. I’m not bored. I’m thinking of an answer.

I just wanted to post a quick thank you to the Keweenaw County Historical Society for inviting Lee Sweitz and myself to talk about our research at Cliff and Clifton. The event took place today at the Eagle River Community Building and was attended by about 60 people. Lee and I spoke for about an hour, followed by 30 minutes of questions. Afterwards we were all treated to a great lunch at the Gitche Gumee Bible Camp in Eagle River (pasty lunch… yum).  After lunch the attendees were brought out to the site and given a tour of our excavations. Absolutely beautiful day for it as well.

A great time was had by Lee and I, and I’m pretty sure the attendees enjoyed themselves as well.

Check out what else is going on with the Keweenaw County Historical Society at their website:

  1. Lee Sweitz says :

Let me second that big thank you to the Keweenaw County Historical Society! It was a pleasure to share with you all what we have learned so far this field season and to take your suggestions for future research resources. Talking with such an engaged and enthusiastic audience was truly energizing.
